Jimmie L. McGlothin

Bossier City, LA – Mr. Jimmie L. McGlothin, 72, passed away, February 9, 2020.Ā Celebration of his life will begin with A Gathering of Family and Friends, between the hours of 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 22, within the State Room of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Haughton. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM within the Mausoleum Chapel at Hill Crest Memorial Park, with Military Honors.

Jimmie was born on Saturday, September 6, 1947 to Louie and Annie West McGlothin in Beaumont, TX. He graduated from Vidor High School where he lettered in football each year he played. He enlisted in the Air Force and spent 4 years stationed at Fort Walton Beach, FL.

After being honorably discharged, he enrolled at Northwestern State University where he graduated with a degree in computer programming. He would later receive his CDL and began a career in the trucking industry where he would eventually retire. He had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and classic American muscle cars. He also loved all sports, especially football and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his mother Annie West McGlothin, father Louie Elmer McGlothin, and brother Bruce McGlothin.

Jimmie is survived by his three children: Stacy Perron and fiancƩ Brent Landry, Stephanie Ammons and fiancƩ Grant Vellion, and Kevin McGlothin and his wife Kristy. Additionally, he is survived by his six grandchildren: Arica Ammons, Arin Ammons, Reese Perron, Hadley Perron, Colton McGlothin, and Chandler McGlothin. Also, left to cherish his memory are his three brothers: Donnie McGlothin and his wife Pat, Arthur Dew, and Steven McGlothin.

The family would like to thank Regional Hospice and Pilgrim Manor for taking such good care of him during his final days.
