BOSSIER CITY – Joan Self Green was born on May 27, 1930 to Archie Luther and Elva Taylor Self in St. Joseph, Missouri. She passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Officiating will be Dr. Cliff Estes and Rev. Sonny DePrang. Music will be provided by Marty Haggard. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery, Haughton, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tra Gene Green, her brothers Billy Ray Self and Doyle Archie Self, and her sister Margie Jordan. She is survived by her five children, Sandra and husband Lee Phipps, Linda and husband Greg Eseman, Kristy Reutlinger, Michael Green and wife Debbie and Mark Green and wife Leslie all of Bossier City, Louisiana. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and much-loved Mammaw and GiGi and will be greatly missed by her family and a host of extended family and friends.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Greg Eseman Jr., Jeffrey Phipps, Jason Phipps, Jonathan Phipps, Denver Green and Stefan Holt.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the dedicated staff who cared for our Mother during her five-week stay at Willis-Knighton North Medical Center. We will always be grateful to Dr. James Jackson, Dr. Frederick J. White, and Dr. Basel Kasabali. Your wonderful care and dedication will always be remembered.
