Joan Susan Craiger Weaver, 78, took a walk with Jesus, “her bridge over troubled water,” on November 1, 2013. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her kind spirit.

Joan was born September, Friday the 13th, 1935 in Trenton, New Jersey. She grew up in San Diego, California and graduated from Kearny High School in 1953. After marriage, she moved to Benton, Louisiana.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sue Craiger, and her twin sister, Jean Bridges and husband Joe. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack Weaver, daughter Jan Bockhaus and husband Kent, son Kim Weaver, son Rusty Weaver and wife Shannon, and brother Jack Craiger and wife Tina. Grandma loved her grandchildren: Brad Bockhaus and wife Becky, Blair Bockhaus and wife Bridget, Beau Bockhaus and wife Martha, Kenda Bockhaus Brotherton and husband Jason, and Naomi Weaver Gulledge and husband Billy. Her 12 great grandchildren brought her great joy.

Joan chose to participate in the medical education and research program. The family requests the privacy of a family memorial. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all for your love, prayers, help and support through her battle with cancer.

The family requests any donations be made to Eastwood Baptist Church Land Purchase, 2810 Highway 80 East, Haughton, LA 71037.
