Celebration of life service for JoAnn Smith will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Dietzel officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Parker Sunday School Class. She loved time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Velton M. Smith, Jr. and her parents, Carl and Opal Dorow.
She is survived by her sons: Brad Smith (Carol) Gil Smith, Gary Smith (Nancy); grandchildren: Kelly, Kyle, Cherie, Valerie, Seth, Sarah, Asher; four great grandchildren (one on the way); sisters, Dottie Klaus, Ginger Walker and brother-in-law, Bobby Smith (Carol) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Dowdall, Jason Custer, Kyle Smith, Donald Black, Gordon Blackman and Charles Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Maness and Bobby Smith.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church – Bossier and the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Huan Le, Dr. B.L. Bickham and the Willis Knighton North critical and intensive care units for their comfort and support during this time.
