BENTON - Joe Wesley “Wes” Groce, 88, of Benton, LA passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 25, 1925 in Albany, Kentucky.
Memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday March 19, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA with Bro. Robert Beadle officiating.
Wes served in the U.S. Navy and retired as an Auto Body Technician. He was a devoted husband, father, and papaw. Wes enjoyed fishing, motorcycles and car races with his sons. He also enjoyed wood working, bird watching and animals.
He was preceded in death by parents, Cord and Bertie Cummings, Wesley Groce and Margaret Ramsey.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Mary of 60 years; sons, Terry Groce of Diana, TX, Mike “Pick” Groce and wife, Peggy of Longview, TX, Don Groce of Diana, TX; sister, Maxine Flowers and husband, Freeman Flowers of Benton, LA; grandchildren, Jennifer Groce, Colin Groce, Jeremy Groce; great-grandchildren, Jayde Groce, Jaycob Groce and Jayce Groce.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
