Improvements to the drainage where Kingston crosses Willow Chute Bayou has been completed and the roadway connecting Airline Drive and La. Hwy. 3 was declared open to traffic shortly after noon Saturday.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously, however, since further improvements continue. Road expansion is underway plus traffic lights and pedestrian crossings are still under construction.
Construction equipment is also operating on the site of the new Benton High School and drivers are asked to obey speed limits in the area.
