RUSTON — Louisiana Tech head football coach Skip Holtz announced the addition of running back Tywun Walters to the program’s list of newcomers for the 2014 season.
Walters — a 5-11, 218-pound tailback from Marks, Miss. — will be a freshman when he reports for camp in August. He graduated from M.S. Palmer High School where he was a first team all-state running back his senior season as he ran for 1,680 yards.
Over the course of his high school career, he ran for 5,870 yards scoring a total of 268 points and was a three-time all-district honoree. Walters was also named the 3-A Athlete of the Year his senior year.
Walters joins five other additions to the program announced in late May.
