Landowner workshop to address mineral issues

A free workshop designed to educate landowners on mineral rights and other issues regarding their property will be held Saturday, August 29, at Bossier Parish Community College.

Attorney Paul Spillers will be conducting the session scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until noon. The Bossier Parish Police Jury in conjunction with Bossier Parish Community College is sponsoring the workshop.

Trailblazer Rural Conservation and Development is facilitating the workshop which is designed to help landowners understand mineral rights and oil and gas leasing considerations.

Spillers has conducted workshops across the state and helps answers landowner questions including how to value mineral rights, how to understand mineral rights contract negotiations, the environmental impact and land value impact from extraction of mineral deposits and other mineral rights considerations.

Spillers will also address divided property and forestry issues.
