A closure of I-20 in Bossier City will be extended by several hours.
Beginning last Thursday, the Eastbound I-20 lane over Westerfield St. and Union Pacific Railroad, just east of Hamilton Road, was reduced to one lane of traffic. The I-20 eastbound on ramp from Hamilton Road and the I-20 eastbound off ramp to LA 3 (Benton Road), Exit 20B, was also closed.
Due to contractor equipment failure, the lane closure forĀ Phase 1Ā of this work will be extended through the night ofĀ Monday, October 15.
Phase 2Ā will begin once Phase 1 is complete, which involves the closure of one outside lane of I-20 eastbound over Westerfield Street.
The I-20 eastbound on-ramp from Hamilton Road and the I-20 eastbound off-ramp to LA 3 (Benton Road), Exit 20B, will remain open.
Phase 2Ā is expected to last approximatelyĀ 14 days.
This work is to replace the east bridge end and roadway approach to the bridge.
DOTD advises that loads are restricted to 12 feet in width.
They add the alternate route for thru traffic will be I-220.
