Traffic on the Jimmie Davis Hwy. (LA 511) bridge over the Red River will be reduced to one lane of traffic Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., according to information released by the Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development (DOTD).
DOTD officials said traffic is being limited to one lane for routine bridge inspection.
Closure of the lane will still allow vehicles 10 feet wide and smaller to pass through the inspection zone. Larger vehicles must detour, using LA Hwy. 1, LA Hwy. 3032 and U.S. Hwy. 71.
Motorists are urged to drive with patience and caution through the inspection site, and to be on the lookout for work crews and equipment.
