BOSSIER CITY – Larry Wayne Council, age 62, of Bossier City passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at Willis-Knighten following a lengthy illness. He was born in Jonesboro, La on July 9, 1951. He was preceded in death by his father, William “Buster” Council; brother, Charlie Council; son, Kris Wayne Council. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with Bro. Gerald Nelson officiating.

Larry proudly served his country for 8 years in the Marines and 13 years in the Army National Guard from which he retired. He served in Vietnam, Panama and Desert Storm earning many accommodations.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Dawn Stanley (Denny), Melissa Garner (Chase) of Bossier City, Elizabeth Kovar (Chris) of San Antonio, TX; 6 grandsons, Joey and Andrew Smith, Hunter Barnes, Whit Kovar, Austin and Christian Stanley; 1 granddaughter, Alexis Berry; 2 great-granddaughters, Lylah Smith and Emery Berry; ex-wife, Ramona Watts Council; mother, Helen Council; 2 sisters, Teresa DiBenedetto and Susie Williams; 1 brother, Rodger Council. Larry is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
