The purpose of Women’s History Month is one that parallels the mission of Dress for
Success Shreveport-Bossier, and its newly appointed executive director is fast becoming a
rising star in the community as she inspires women to break barriers in the workforce and
elevate their financial independence.

In celebration of 25 years of impact and the month of March being Women’s History Month,
Dress for Success Shreveport-Bossier is elated to announce LaToya Amos has taken the
reins as Executive Director, bringing a wealth of experience to the organization. Amos
studied at University of Louisiana Monroe, where she received her Bachelor of Science in
Psychology, and received specialized training in leadership and strategic advocacy at Yale
University – The Campaign School. She is also Founder of POWERR Management Group,
LLC; an alumnus of Leadership Shreveport/Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce; and
was recipient of the 2023 Minority Business Honoree Award.

“I am deeply honored to serve this incredible organization and the many women in our
community,” Amos said. “My vision is to breathe new life into this affiliate, elevating it
beyond a resource for professional attire and into a powerhouse for career and lifestyle
transformation. We are here to ensure that women not only show up physically as they
desire for the careers they want, but also have the guidance and support to build the lives
they deserve.”

In addition to these initiatives, Amos further outlined her vision, saying “We are placing a
special focus on women veterans, ensuring they receive the support they need as they
transition into civilian careers. Additionally, we will be actively engaging with the youth,
providing mentorship opportunities to guide and inspire the next generation as they
navigate their career paths. We are also increasing volunteer engagement, recognizing that
our impact grows exponentially when our community comes together to uplift one
another.”

One of the premier programs facilitated by Dress for Success Shreveport-Bossier is the
Professional Women’s Group (PWG), which has seen a 200% increase in attendance under
the leadership of Amos. PWG is a networking and professional development space for
diverse women from all backgrounds.

The momentum will only continue to build as the Red Hanger Fashion Show makes a
comeback in Fall 2025 in partnership with Margaritaville Hotel and Casino. Celebrity
fashion designer and Project Runway Season 15 contestant Tasha Henderson will serve as
the Dress for Success 2025 Ambassador. Amos will also serve as a facilitator March 27 at
“What’s Your Pitch?” Hosted by LSUS Alumni Association, the interactive evening is
designed to help women refine their elevator pitch and take their personal and
professional brand to the next level.

“When you create positive change for a woman, you transform her world, uplift her family,
and strengthen everything connected to her,” Amos added. “We are committed to forging
stronger partnerships with educational institutions and companies to provide women with
direct pathways to sustainable careers.”
