BOSSIER CITY – Leary Maurice “Bo” Ratcliff was greeted in Heaven by his grandson, Bossier City Police Officer, Trey Hutchison, on August 6, 2013.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013, and funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013, both at Faith Chapel of First Baptist Bossier. Dr. Fred Lowery will conduct the service.
Bo was born on May 20, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Mary Alice Bolinger Ratcliff and Walter Burr Ratcliff. He graduated from Fair Park High School and attended Baylor University. After college, he worked for more than 20 years at SWEPCO and then at General Motors, from which he retired.
After retirement, Bo worked at the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission and valued the people he worked with as well as the people he worked for. His goal was “to take as many people to Heaven with him as possible.” He requests that donations and gifts be made to the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission or to First Baptist Bossier.
Bo is a member of First Baptist Bossier, where he is a deacon and a member of the choir. He is a long-time certified softball umpire.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Dona Edwards Ratcliff; five children, Jenny Riley (Ray), Jill Ratcliff, Wendy Hutchison (Mark), Cindy Bowen (Doug), and Joey Enis (Gisele); 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandsons.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Luke Hutchison, Lee Riley, Christopher Riley, Micah Bowen, Carter Enis, Andre Enis and Jake Brown.
