Lillie H. Eatman
Bossier City, LA – A graveside service honoring the life of Lillie H. Eatman was held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020, at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation with the family was held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Brother Randy Thomas.
Lillie H. Eatman was born September 13, 1921, in Louisville, Mississippi to parents, John Henry Hemphill and Willie Ann Vaughn and passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2020, in Texarkana, Texas.
She was a member of Airline Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Lillie worked in the garment industry for years and also did work as a seamstress out of her home. She enjoyed working in the soil, tending to her flowers and vegetables, but the scriptures are where she found peace and comfort.
Lillie was the last surviving sibling of five brothers and three sisters to parents, John and Willie Hemphill of Mississippi. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, John Frank Eatman of Bossier City, LA.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, John C. Eatman and wife, Nancy, of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Gloria Swank and husband, S. James, of Daingerfield, TX; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
