River City Grille is proud to announce that it will hold the first of several planned fundraisers for Pastors Jerry and Tina Kennedy.

A little background about the Kennedy’s – Jerry and his wife, Tina, are affectionately known as the Motorcycle Pastors.  Once a month they hold church services at Omerta Biker Church, which meets in the gymnasium of Life Tabernacle Church in Shreveport.  They have a worship service and a meal afterwards, giving time for members of various motorcycle clubs to come together for one purpose – to share the Word of God.  They have helped change countless lives and lead men and women to the Lord who may have otherwise never heard the Word!  With Jerry and Tina Kennedy – as with Christ – ALL are accepted!

Memorial Day Weekend Jerry and Tina were headed home on their motorcycle after officiating the wedding of a young couple who had been rescued and free from addiction when a drunk driver pulled out in front of them.  Both Jerry and Tina were critically injured.  Jerry was airlifted to University Health and Tina was taken by South Bossier EMS.  Jerry spent nine days on the ventilator with multiple broken bones, including a shattered right leg.  Tina remains on the ventilator at this time with 10 broken vertebra, 13 broken ribs, a broken pelvis and other multiple broken bones.  Their physical injuries will heal, but this will take time – conservatively six months at the very least and the costs are already astronomical!

River City Grille will host a fundraiser on Tuesday, June 14, from 5 pm to 9 pm.  They are located at 1903 Benton Road in Bossier City.  Customers are asked to bring a pre-printed flier to hand to their server. (Flier posted below)  Ten percent of your bill before tax will be donated to the Kennedy Rehabilitation fund. The voucher is available at the Professional Firefighters Credit Union (9410 Healthplex Drive in Shreveport near Bert Kouns and I-49).  There will also be volunteers at the restaurant handing out the vouchers at the door.

Several other fundraisers are also planned: June 30 Smitty’s Pizza (9375 Mansfield Road in Shreveport) will donate a portion of their sales from OPEN to CLOSE to the Pastors’ recovery fund.  More information will be forwarded as the planning is complete.

Radiant Life Church (12022 Mansfield Rd., Keithville, LA) will host a hamburger cookout with raffle items and live music and there are two more fundraisers in the planning phases for mid-July with a chicken/sausage plate cookout at Central Christian Church (2010 W. Bert Kouns) and a concert featuring Landry and Company at the Faith Farms Church and Arena in Elm Grove.

There is a GoFundMe Account set up in the name “Help Motorcycle Pastors Jerry & Tina” as well as an account at the Professional Firefighter’s Credit Union.
