Bossier City Police Shop with a Cop was held Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Walmart Super Center on Airline Drive sponsored by Bossier City Police Local 645 and the Bossier Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #39. Local 645 and the FOP were feeling extra generous tonight and spent $125 for each of the 40 children in need who took part so that they could have gifts this Christmas. Money for the program came from the generous contributions from the Bossier City community that were collected by both organizations.

Children were able to visit with Santa Claus and enjoy playing outside in the foam “snow” made by the firefighters.  Olaf the snowman from the movie “Frozen” and an LSU Tiger also livened up the festivities and brought holiday cheer to the children.  Operation Santa Claus operates with the generosity of the public, who donate the gifts and monetary contributions to help support the children.  Officers and firefighters delivered Christmas presents to children all throughout Bossier and Caddo Parishes Dec. 22 – 23.
