In response to the devastating flooding in Central Texas, local organizations have launched a coordinated relief effort to support affected families and individuals. Red River Credit Union (RRCU) has opened all of its branch locations across the region as collection points for essential supplies and monetary donations.

Beginning this week and running through Friday, July 11, RRCU will accept donations to help flood victims recover and rebuild. The relief effort focuses on collecting personal care items—including soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and other hygiene products—as well as financial contributions.

“At RRCU, helping to get the communities we serve involved as a donation site for Texas flood victims reflects our deep commitment to the Credit Union Principles, especially Concern for Community, Social Responsibility, and Cooperation Among Cooperatives,” said Brandi Falting, RRCU Commercial Development and Lending Officer. “Being a part of this initiative isn’t just about collecting supplies—it’s about living our values. We’re proud to stand alongside our community to make a meaningful impact and show what the credit union difference truly means.”

The initiative comes as Central Texas continues to grapple with widespread flooding that has displaced residents, damaged property, and left communities in need of basic necessities. The collected items and funds will be distributed directly to areas most impacted by the flooding, helping ensure that victims receive timely and meaningful assistance.

Community members are encouraged to drop off supplies at any RRCU branch during regular business hours. With locations across the Ark-La-Tex, the credit union is positioned to gather significant support and deliver a strong message of solidarity.

This local effort highlights the region’s commitment to service and compassion, and reflects the belief that in times of disaster, the power of community can make a real difference.

As recovery begins in Texas, Northwest Louisiana stands ready to lend a hand.
