Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5951 in Bossier City has received the 2014 National Outstanding Community Service Award.
This award is based on volunteer projects by Post members, who report on seven areas and over 35 sub areas for the past year. A special reception was held at the National VFW Convention in St. Louis and the National Commander Ben Thien presented this award.
The award is very prestigious and all VFW Posts in Louisiana compete annually.
