HAUGHTON – Lois Laverne Jones Speir passed away Friday, October 18 at Grace Home, with her husband and daughter by her side. She was 72 years old. She had fought a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer and Alzheimer’s.
Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, October 22 at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton. Brother Billy Pierce will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Funeral will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Lois was a member of Airline Baptist Church. She retired from South Central Bell as a directory assistance operator.
Lois was born in McCrory, AR on April 28, 1941 to parents, Daisy and Lester Jones. She is preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Joanne Jones. Lois is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Billy O. Speir; faithful daughter, Kristi Speir; and sister, Doris Nolder. She also had a son, Terry Speir and grandson, Alex Speir.
