BOSSIER CITY – Funeral services celebrating the life of Lorene Sharpe Sheppard, age 89 will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City with Bro. Jason Sheppard officiating, assisted by Dr. Ramonalynn Bethley. Interment will be at the Hill Crest Cemetery in Haughton, LA. There will be a time of visitation on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City from 5-7 pm.

Mrs. Sheppard was born November 29, 1923 in Grapevine, AR to her parents, Charlie David Sharpe and Tava Dutton Sharpe and passed away on September 13, 2013 in Bossier City, LA. She was a housewife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, A. C. Sheppard; son, Jerry L. Sheppard; sister, Irene Sharpe Jorden and nephew, Perry L. Jorden. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Adkins and husband, Aaron; daughter-in-law, Karen Sheppard; grandchildren; Julia Adkins, Stacy Smith and husband, Andrew, Jason Sheppard and wife, Lydia; great-grandchildren: Nicholas Smith and Sarah Sheppard and step-great grandchildren, Isabella Jones and Brennan Jones. She is also survived by nieces, Lonnine Adamitz and husband, George and Brenda LeRay and husband, Herb and two sisters-in-law, Pauline Sheppard and Edna Hicks.

Honoring Mrs. Sheppard as pallbearers will be Herb LeRay, Harold Quigley, Paul Quigley, James Quigley, Mert Pilkinton and Bob Sheppard.

The family would like to extend their grateful appreciation for the years of love and care to Dr. Kennedy Lim, Dr. Ross Nelson, and Dr. Atilla Balogh. The tender care and ease provided by Robyn Watkins and Ellen Bartell of hospice in the past week will also be remembered. The family also wishes to thank the superb staff of Garden Court Nursing Home where she has been a resident since January 2010.
