Louisiana Downs Racetrack and Casino is extending your Independence Day
fun with its free, family-friendly Star-Spangled Bash on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The day will be filled
with heart pounding live racing, a free concert, and an incredible fireworks show.
The fun begins late Saturday afternoon with horse racing on the most iconic racetrack in north
Louisiana. Post time for the first race is 4:05 p.m. After the last race of the seven-race card, local
favorite The Barksdale Bubble will take to the stage on the racetrack apron for a free Saturday night
concert. Fireworks will light up the sky above the track around 9:30 p.m. Throughout the afternoon
and evening, a child-friendly area with bounce houses, face painting and more will be set up on the
apron.
Located at the intersection of I-20 and I-220 in Bossier City, Louisiana, the iconic Louisiana Downs
opened in 1974. Rubico Acquisition Corporation purchased the entertainment complex in 2021. The
casino has 600 slot machines, as well as food and beverage options. The racetrack offers live
Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing seasons.
