The Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets is one stop on the Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights.

The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights will be hosting its first of three welcome center events from noon to 4 p.m. Friday at the Greenwood Welcome Center to inspire travel to the eight cities of the Trail.

The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights began in 1992 and consists of Shreveport-Bossier, Minden, Monroe-West Monroe, Natchitoches and Alexandria/Pineville. Each city is within an hour’s drive of the next when traveling on I-20 and I-49. When visiting the cities, guests can experience holiday lights, shopping, fireworks, parades and more.

Upon arriving at the Greenwood Welcome Center, visitors will be greeted with “snow.” Inside, they will be able to get into the holiday spirit as they tour a holiday inspired room, sip hot chocolate and nibble on cookies.

Visitors will also be able to register for a chance to win a vacation package valued at $800. The package includes hotel accommodations, tickets to attractions, and restaurant gift certificates in the cities. People can also register for the vacation package on the website.  The sweepstakes ends on Nov. 10.

The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights will be hosting two other events at state welcome centers. The Mound Welcome Center event is from noon to 4 p.m. on Nov. 3, and the Alexandria Welcome Center event is from noon to 4 p.m. on Nov. 9.
