Louisiana’s Incident Support Team (IST) is deploying to Archuleta, Colorado, to assist with response and recovery efforts as ongoing rain and flooding threaten communities. The IST will depart this evening and is fully prepared to support our partners on the ground.
“I am extremely proud of our team and of the commitment they bring to every mission,” said DPS Principal Assistant, Chief Bryan J Adams. “Their readiness is the result of hard work, extensive preparation, and continuous training. Through countless hours of learning, practice, and collaboration, they ensure they can respond quickly, safely, and effectively when disaster strikes.”
“I am extremely proud of the dedication, professionalism and commitment of the Louisiana fire service,” said Chief Chad P. Sonnier, Louisiana State Fire Marshal. “When emergencies strike, even in other states, the Louisiana fire service answers the call without hesitation, leaving their homes and families to assist communities in their time of greatest need.”
As part of these emergency response efforts, these dedicated responders will be boots on the ground, working alongside Colorado’s teams to help meet community needs, protect residents, and strengthen recovery efforts.
The team is made up of members from the St George Fire Department, Baton Rouge Fire Department and The Lafayette Fire Department.
