BOSSIER CITY – A Mass of Christian Burial for Lucille Nadine Barksdale will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Benton, LA. Officiating will be Father Pike Thomas. Visitation will be in the Family Worship Center at St. Jude immediately after the service. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Alexandria National Cemetery, Pineville, LA.
Nadine was born September 29, 1931 in Pollard, AR to Ruail and Noma Vaughn Conley and died May 13, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She was retired from the Army/Air Force Exchange Service. Nadine was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Society, St. Jude Ladies Guild, Catholic Women’s League and a volunteer with several other organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy W. Barksdale; parents; brothers, Carl Conley, George and Harold Nash; sister, Bonnie Crumley and son-in-law, Duane Massey.
She is survived by her son, John Barksdale (Keiko); daughters, Sandra Hersko (Ralph), Ivy Perez (Buzz), Virginia Harris (Dave), Debbie Massey, Christine Fogle (Steven); grandchildren, Laurie Casey, Jennifer Hersko, Adam (Christie) Dunn, Jason (Amber) Harris, Elizabeth (Russ) McPherson, Jacob Harris, Lance (Carrie) Spradling, Ryan (Nanna) Spradling, Dallas Lampkin, Kenji Barksdale, Brandon (Jennifer) Berry; Jeremy Fogle and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Charles Conley, Michael Nash and Quincy Nash and special cousins, nieces and nephews.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Jude Catholic Church Building Fund, Grace Home or a charity of donors’ choice.
