Matthew Sean Roberts, 29, of Haughton faces a charge of assault by drive by shooting. The victim tells police she and three passengers were traveling northbound on Airline Drive at about 9:45 p.m. Monday when a pickup truck exited off of I-20 and nearly hit her car.

The victims says as she proceeded north on Airline Drive just past East Texas Street the driver of the pickup, later identified as Roberts, pulled out a handgun and fired a shot the victim’s car. The round did not hit the vehicle or any her passengers.

The victim says she then followed Robert’s truck as it left Bossier City and went into north Shreveport, where Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies made contact with Roberts and the victim on Hwy 1 at Woodshire Circle.

Caddo deputies took Roberts into custody and booked him into the Caddo Correctional Center as a fugitive. Roberts was later booked into the Bossier City Jail and subsequently transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility. Bond is set at $75,000.
