UPDATE: Man shot on I-20 in Bossier City

UPDATE: The victim in Wednesday night’s shooting is identified as Brieon Jarrell O’Neal, 29, of Shreveport. He was responsive and talking with officers. He remains in stable condition in the ICU at University Health in Shreveport. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing. Bossier City police are investigating a shooting that occurred on I-20 in the vicinity of the Hamilton Road and Traffic Street exits.

It appears a male driver of a sedan heading westbound on I-20 was shot by an unknown subject in another westbound vehicle. The victim’s car then crashed on I-20 just west of Traffic Street.

Bossier City police responded to the shooting on I-20 at approximately 7:35 pm. The call initially came in as a motor vehicle crash.

The victim was taken to University Health in Shreveport. He is in stable condition in the intensive care unit there.

I-20 westbound at Traffic Street was closed for approximately 2 hours. Westbound traffic was diverted onto westbound I-220 while officers worked the scene.
