Man sustains life threatening injuries in morning traffic accident

The Bossier City Police Department is investigating a Friday morning traffic accident that left a man with life threatening injuries.

Police and Bossier City Fire Department personnel responded to a two vehicle crash just after 7:30 a.m. on the A.R. Teague Parkway at Shady Grove Drive. According to witnesses, the crash happened when a Chrysler 200, driven by 44-year old Antonio Goldston of Bossier City, entered the parkway from Shady Grove Drive and drove into the path of a northbound Toyota 4Runner. Goldston’s two children were also in the vehicle.

Goldston and his 8-year old son Zion Goldston, were taken to University Health in Shreveport after they had to be extricated from their vehicle by fire department personnel. Antonio Goldston sustained what appeared to be life threatening injuries. His son’s injuries were not life threatening. The second child, 6-year old Zoe Goldston, was not seriously injured and did not require emergency medical treatment. The driver of the 4Runner, 30-year old Shemorell Ross of Haughton, was also not seriously injured.

As a result of the wreck, police had to close both northbound lanes of the parkway and detour southbound traffic around the crash scene for approximately two hours while members of the BCPD Crash Investigation Unit conducted an investigation into the accident. That investigation remains ongoing.
