Margaritaville Resort Casino, is hosting a day filled with special events on June 14 in honor of the casino’s one-year anniversary.

Margaritaville Resort Casino expects thousands of guests from Shreveport-Bossier and surrounding areas to visit during the one-year anniversary celebration. Since opening its doors on June 15, 2013, Margaritaville Resort Casino has attracted well over 2 million guests to its table games, slot machines and restaurants. The anniversary celebration will highlight the successes of the casino – from the facility’s development to the creation of approximately 1,100 new jobs, of which roughly 90% were filled by Louisiana residents.

“We’d like to share this important milestone with as many people as possible,” said Barry Regula, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Margaritaville Resort Casino. “It took a lot of local support – from community leaders to voters to employees to vendors to neighboring businesses – to make Margaritaville Resort Casino a success. Our one-year anniversary is our opportunity to celebrate each and every person who has supported us.”

To celebrate the one-year anniversary, Margaritaville Resort Casino will host a full day of festivities including a volcano nacho eating contest, with the winner of the contest getting a free trip to Margaritaville Pensacola, face painting and caricature artists, drink specials, live entertainment in Margaritaville Restaurant and a DJ out by the pool. Margaritaville will round off the evening with a performance from country legend Jerry Jeff Walker.
