With a life distinguished by kindness and leadership, Marshan Kelly Luttrell—born September 27, 1943, in Carthage, Texas—passed away on July 29, 2025, in New Braunfels, Texas. She will be lovingly remembered for her wisdom and the deep affection she inspired in family, friends, and all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Don Luttrell; her children, Kelly Hayes, Meischelle Hooten, Jennifer Robison, and Samantha Donovan; her loving grandchildren: Heather Wright, Lauren Hayes, Emiline Ophilia, Jacob Chambers, Austin Robison, Mary Ella Robison, and Megan Gonzales and  her great grandchildren, Evangeline and Case Wright.

Marshan was preceded in death by her parents, D.A. Kelly Sr. and Mary Gholson, and her brother, D.A. Kelly Jr.

Marshan graduated from Bossier High School, where she served as varsity cheerleader and Y-Teens president, maintaining lifelong connections through the alumni association. After high school, she earned a degree in business, dedicating herself to continuing her father’s distinguished legacy as co-owner and operator of Kelly’s Truck Terminal in Greenwood, Louisiana. Through her vision, dedication, and hard work, Marshan ensured Kelly’s Truck Terminal remained a cornerstone of the community and a business that honored her father’s name. Her leadership fostered a close-knit workplace where employees were truly valued, and her presence made the business a source of pride in North Louisiana.

Upon her retirement, Marshan brought her energy and caring spirit to new endeavors, becoming an active and cherished member of the Krewe of Gemini. She participated in the Krewe’s charitable work and was honored to serve as Queen in 1999.

Throughout her life, Marshan invested herself fully in her family and community. She was continually present for her children and grandchildren, setting an example of steadfast support and love. Her devotion was especially evident in the tender care she provided for her mother in her final years. Marshan’s accomplishments and presence leave an enduring impression on all who knew and admired her, a testament to a life lived with purpose, compassion, and distinction.

Marshan was a woman of deep Christian faith, finding strength and guidance in her beliefs throughout her life. She found great joy in tending her garden, where she nurtured both plants and peaceful moments that connected her to the beauty of creation. Above all, Marshan treasured time spent with her family, and she was never happier than when her loved ones gathered together, creating the memories that will forever honor her legacy.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Park in Shreveport Cemetery in Shreveport on August 8th at 11:00 am, with a small gathering to follow at the Shreveport Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, honoring Marshan’s journey and her hope for a better future for others. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, hospice nurses, and dear friends whose support and compassion brought comfort in her final days.
