Mary Lou Lambka

Mary Lou Lambka conquered a 14 month battle with cancer and passed from this life on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born August 16, 1948 in Bradley, AR to Robert T and Louise Adams. Her parents; twin sister, Margaret Sue Adams; her brother, J W Adams; and great niece, Johanna Adams preceded her in death.

Lucy attended school in Bradley, AR and Plain Dealing, La and graduated from PDHS. After high school she attended nursing school. During that time she met and married the love of her life, Al Lambka. To that union 2 children were born. She changed her vocation to child care so she could be home with her children. For the next 45 years she kept many children from this area. As those children grew up she cared for many of their children. She was dedicated to each child she kept, loving each one as her own.

As a very talented lady, she enjoyed all kind of arts and crafts, crochet, genealogy, and photography. She was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church and served in many capacities as Sunday School teacher, the Children and Youth Ministry, and WMU. She was a solid rock to her church, the community, her family and her friends. Lucy was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Missing her with fondest memories are her husband, Al Lambka; daughter, Margie Lambka; son Alan and wife Leah Lambka. Survivors also are 4 grandchildren, Casey, Noah, Elijah, and Alayna Lambka; brother William D and Connie Adams, sister-n-law Lorene Adams; 3 nephews, Tommy & Diana Adams, Robert Adams, and Terry Adams & Angela; 5 nieces, Tammy Padilla & fiancé Tony Soto, Tina Adams, Christy Adams & Jamie Wiley, Cathy Sanchez, Caren Parrish; 7 great nieces, 6 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces, 2 great -great nephews and special cousin Frances and Don Arnold.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Salem Baptist Church beginning at 5:00 pm.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, February 10, 2014 at Salem Baptist church with church pastor, Bro. Larry Earhart officiating and Bro. Todd Pickard assisting. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery all under direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John Adams, Joey McKenzie, Jordan Chreene, Blayne Chreene, Mark Miller, David Helms, and Rusty Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers are Casey, Noah, Elijah, and Alayna Lambka.

Special thanks for the excellent care given to Lucy go to WK Cancer Center, WK North nurses LaKeitha, Caitlyn, Leann; to Drs Destin Black and Maxwell McDonald, and nurses from St Joseph Hospice.
