Haughton won the girls division in the Border Dash cross country meet hosted by Parkway on Saturday at South Bossier Park. Benton finished runner-up in the girls and boys divisions.
Haughton scored 33 points to 37 for Benton in the girls division. Caddo Middle Magnet was third with 54.
Caddo Middle Magnet won the boys division with 35 points. Benton scored 78. Cope was third with 119, Elm Grove fourth with 124, Haughton fifth with 128 and Greenacres sixth with 138.
The girls race featured 160 competitors.
Benton’s Isabella Russell won the individual title, covering the 1.5-mile course in 9 minutes, 10.8 seconds. Haughton’s Cadence Salas and Madecyn Johnson finished 2-3 in 9:28.7 and 9:39.1, respectively.
Benton sixth-grader Megan Brown finished fifth in 9:52.5. Haughton’s Lowrey Lain was sixth in 9:54.2.
Benton’s Kaden Brooks and Olivia Russell finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in 9:54.8 and 9:56.2.
Haughton’s Julia Allen (12th), Reagan Hodge (13th), McKenna Samuel (16th) and Ahrianna Branch (19th) all posted top-20 finishes.
The boys division attracted 163 runners.
Haughton’s Jordan Sanderson led Bossier Parish runners with a third-place finish in 8:24.7. Caddo Middle’s Evan Johnson won in 8:11.7. Teammate Josh Green was second in 8:17.7.
Benton’s Ernesto Pena, Jack Johnston and Seth Henson finished seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively, in 8:32.5, 8:32.8 and 8:34.0.
Greenacres’ Colby O’Glee and Drew Kent were 11th and 12th, respectively.
Other Bossier Parish runners turning in top-20 finishes were Elm Grove’s Carson Keller (13th), Elm Grove’s Gabe Falting (16th), Cope’s Zachary Leaver (17th), Benton’s Eddie Pena (18th) and Cope’s Drew Kolniak (19th).
