Middle school football: Benton seventh-grade team gets preseason win; district games start Tuesday

The Benton Tigers defeated the Greenacres Mustangs 24-0 in a preseason seventh-grade game Thursday.

Evan Cole scored touchdowns on runs of 48 and 90 yards. He also ran for one conversion and caught a pass from Caleb Cassidy for another.

Davis Sellers went 59 yards with a screen pass for a TD.

Cassidy also ran for a conversion after Cole’s first TD.

District play starts Tuesday. In seventh- and eighth-grade games, Benton hosts Elm Grove, Rusheon takes on Cope at Bossier’s Memorial Stadium and Greenacres faces Haughton at Airline Stadium.
