Middle school golf: Cope’s Hill wins individual title in Team Championship event

Cope’s Eli Hill won the individual title in the Team Championship middle school golf tournament Monday at The Golf Club at Stonebridge.

The tournament marked the culmination of the middle school golf season.

Hill shot an even-par 72, finishing one stroke ahead of Austin Drummond of St. Mark’s. Cope’s Ethan Dial was third with a 75 and Greenacres’ Ryan Steed fourth with a 76.

Benton’s Braeden Bell finished seventh with an 88.

St. Mark’s won the “A” team title with a 325. Cope was runner-up with a 356. Camden Zylicz, James Ross and Hunter Kendrick are the other Cope team members.

Benton’s Austin Ballard won the nine-hole “B” Team Championship individual title with a 42. Benton finished third in the team competition won by St. Mark’s.
