A Mississippi man wanted for murder who has been on the run for the past five months calmly walked through the front doors of the Bossier City Police Department Thursday afternoon and turned himself in.
Jaquarius Jermon Shields, 20, surrendered to Bossier City police without incident just before 4 p.m. Thursday. Shields was wanted in connection with the shooting death of a man in Gulfport, Mississippi back in April of this year.
Shields wouldn’t say how he got to Bossier City nor how long he’s been here. Shields was booked into the Bossier City Jail as a fugitive from Mississippi and is awaiting transfer to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility where he’ll await extradition back to Gulfport.
