The Ark-La-Tex Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and Retiree Activities Office at Barksdale Air Force Base honored Louisiana Senator Robert Adley for his service to the state of Louisiana and continued support for the military during a recognition dinner at the base Feb. 21.

Adley, an Airline High School graduate who served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam, was in the Louisiana House of Representatives for 16 years and has been in the Louisiana State Senate since 2003.

Sen. Adley was also instrumental in creating the Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal, and he presented the medal to more than a dozen Louisiana servicemen and women Friday night. To find out how to obtain the medal, go to http://www.vetaffairs.la.gov/Programs/LAVeteransHonorMedal.

For 75 years, MOAA has been serving those who serve their country. Membership is open to active duty officers, Reserves and National Guard, former and retired officers and surviving spouses. See http://arklatexmoaa.org/membership/ for more information on MOAA membership.
