BOSSIER CITY – Doyle C. Fortenberry was born March 31, 1932 in Columbia, MS. His parents were Seamon and Clara Ann Fortenberry. Doyle passed away July 11, 2013 in Bossier City, LA. He retired from the Air Force as a Master Seagent after 21 years of service. He then worked at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center for more than 20 years.
Doyle enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a huge Ole Miss and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Preceding Doyle in death is his parents and his grandmother, Mama Jessie. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shelby Fortenberry; sons, Scott Fortenberry and his wife Sharon and Dean Fortenberry; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Matthew; and many other relatives and friends.
Doyle had elected to be cremated and a service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flower donation may be made to the America Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Willis Knighton Bossier ICU and Doctors Lambert, San Pedro, Maranto, and Saucier.
