Bill peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2013 and will be greatly missed by family, friends, and students. The son of Elvin and Ethel Moore, he grew up in Shelbyville, TX. After graduation, Bill joined the Air Force and served his country in the Vietnam War. Upon retiring from the military, he began his second career as a math teacher. Bill thoroughly enjoyed all of his students, whom he affectionately referred to as “turkeys” and “squirrels” and remained close to them throughout the years.

Bill was an avid golfer and was fortunate enough to play on many of his favorite golf courses. He loved his country, the Texas Longhorns, the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all his family. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ofc. Mike Moore BCPD, of whom he was very proud and wife Carrie; his granddaughter, Sara whom he loved dearly; his loving wife, Virginia along with her son Stephen Hammett, his wife Nikki and two daughters, Ireland and Finleigh; daughter Sharron Brooks and her sons Brandon and Nicholas. He also leaves behind his sister Thelma and brother-in-law Benny Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bill dedicated his life to serving others, therefore, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of choice.
