BOSSIER CITY – A Celebration of life service for Bob will be held at Barksdale United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Kendall Docter will be officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Hill Crest Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park with full military honors.
He was welcomed home to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Bob retired after 21 years in the Air Force as a Master Sargent. He then worked for American Refrigeration for 21 years.
He was a member of Barksdale United Methodist Church. Bob loved woodworking in his shop and making things to give as gifts. He and Ann loved traveling in their 5th wheel camper and meeting new friends along the way, especially in Fun Valley every summer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Janie Horne of TN, and sister, Sue Treadway of GA.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Wall Horne; sons, Ronnie Horne and wife Donna of Haddock, GA, Gary Horne and wife Judy of Haughton, LA, Jimmy Horne and wife Sheila of Orlando, FL and Paul Horne and wife Jan of Bossier City, LA; grandchildren, Lindsey, Amanda, Sarah, Janie, Austin, Bobby, Joseph, Cierra, Ethan, Dana, Montie and great grandchildren, Abigail and Davis; and sisters, Billie Jean Bentley and Jane Killen and husband R.L. both of TN.
Pallbearers will be Ken Bowman, Todd Tilley, Sam Brimer, Dan Resendez, Mike Holcomb, and Alex Linoski. Honorary pallbearers will be Herman Carroll, Rodgers Reeves, Jerry Chandler, Ed Allen, Richard Olson and the Fun Valley bunch.
As per the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, please make memorials in honor of Bob to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
