In an eagerly anticipated announcement (since rumors started swirling back in March) former owner Tommy Scott sounded the good news for hockey fans across northwest Louisiana: “Mudbugs Hockey is back!”
To be clear, fans will have to wait until September of 2016 to enjoy Mudbugs Junior Hockey action, but with major renovations to Hirsch Coliseum, and a new ice rink (there will even be public skating allowed on Friday, November 6th) at the Louisiana State Fair, this promises to be ‘a dream come true’ for Mudbugs’ Nation.

In front of a packed room at Encompass Sports, media, investors, family, friends, government officials, and supporters alike, Thursday, October 22nd, 2015 became the official day for a new beginning of Mudbugs Hockey at the Hirch Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Season tickets are now on sale by calling 1-844-4MUDBUGS or logon at www.geauxbugs.com
In addition to Tommy Scott, all the cast of promoters, owners, and partners were there, including Scott Muscatt; Chris Giordano (President/GM of the State Fair of Louisiana); members of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention Tourist Bureau; members of the State Fair board; Mayors Ollie Tyler of Shreveport & “Lo” Walker of Bossier City; state and local political officials; and others too numerous to mention.
Seems Mudbugs Hockey can’t come soon enough for the diehard fans, but it appears with this news: “They’re gonna kick ice!”
