Narcotics Task Force checkup finds most stores comply with alcohol sales

Agents with the Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and Bossier City Police Department found six out of seven stores to be in compliance with underage alcohol sales.

“The message is resonating among stores and their employees that law enforcement is taking the sale of alcohol to underage buyers very seriously,” said Sheriff Julian Whittington. “Ultimately, we want 100% compliance of the law, but having only one citation out of seven stores checked is a step in the right direction.”

Agents will continue checking businesses within Bossier City and throughout the parish to ensure employees are not selling alcohol to underage patrons.

The Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force comprises agents of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and the Bossier City Police Department.

The team was established in October 2012 by Sheriff Whittington and Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams as a combined effort to combat illegal drug activity and associated crimes all throughout Bossier Parish.
