Natchitoches Jaycees provide donation to support Special Olympics

The Natchitoches Area Jaycees presented a donation of $500 to Northwestern State University’s Presidential Leadership Program, the organization that annually hosts the Red River Games of the Louisiana Special Olympics.  The donation will support the awards ceremony for the event, set to take place Tuesday, March 18 at NSU’s Walter Ledet Track and Field Complex.  On the front row from left are PLP members Lyla Monroe, Alivia Roark, Abby Robinson, Marleigh Chelette and Allison Chevalier.  On the back row are Jaycees Micheal Leone, Skylar Downs and Donovan Ohnoutkha, PLP students Bryan Lay, Parker Stroope and Eli Little and Jaycees Scott Maggio and Matt Clark.  Special Olympics is an opportunity for Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Winn parish athletes with intellectual disabilities to compete in various track and field competitions. NSU students, staff and community volunteers are coordinating the event.
