On Saturday, May 2, Fit Nation will hold the second annual Nathan’s Night, a silent auction and fundraiser with a goal of raising $10,000 for the American Cancer Society in honor of the first Fit Nation employee, Nathan George.

He graduated from Parkway High School in 2006, but left this world too soon in 2010 after a battle with cancer. Each year, Fit Nation employees participate in the Relay for Life forTeam Fit-“Nate”tion in his memory.
This year’s fundraiser will be held at Great Raft Brewing in Shreveport. Tickets are $75 person with a discounted ticket for $50 until April 25. The evening will include live music by Daniel & the Louisiana Appleseeds, a tour of Great Raft Brewing, beer tastings, cash bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a Silent Auction. Attire for the event is business casual with “Tennis Shoes Optional.” You must be 21 or over to attend.
During the evening, two participants will also cut their hair, which they have been growing out for months, for donation to Pantene Beautiful Lengths Program which makes wigs for cancer patients. Anyone can make a donation to the American Cancer Society on the ticket website. Those persons donating a minimum of $10 will be able to honor someone with a TRIBUTE LUMINARY at the event. Upon making their donation online, they can provide a name they would like honored and that name will be placed on a lit luminary at the event for the evening.
