With hurricane season continuing through November 30, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has developed a new app to help your family weather the storm.

This app is an essential tool in helping your family prepare for emergency situations. Two-thirds of American households lack adequate plans for a disasters-and extreme weather events, wildfires and earthquakes are on the rise.
With 68 percent of adults in the U.S. owning a smartphone, not only will the FEMA app make preparations less complicated but has the real potential to save lives.
Features include: Weather alerts from the National Weather Service for up to five different locations anywhere in the United States; Learn what to do before, during and after emergencies with safety tips; Share disaster damage photos on a verified photo-sharing platform; Prepare ahead of time with an emergency kit checklist and safety reminders; Get directions to open shelters and where to talk to FEMA in person; Nearly half a million Americans already have the FEMA app.
