A new paid parking system has been introduced in certain private lots along Delhi Street in the East Bank District, prompting local businesses and visitors to adjust to the change.
The East Bank District & Plaza announced the update on Facebook, advising patrons to use the QR codes posted in the affected lots to avoid potential parking penalties. While some parking areas now require payment, there are still free parking options available throughout the district.
The new system was implemented due to ongoing issues with unauthorized parking, including reports of verbal altercations with employees and vehicle damage in private lots. To address these concerns, Red River Chevrolet, which owns the impacted lots, introduced the paid parking policy to better regulate access.
In response, Flying Heart Brewing & Pub – Bossier City clarified that the decision to charge for parking was not made by them, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for customers. They encouraged patrons to plan ahead and reach out with any questions or concerns.
While the new system affects only the private lots owned by Red River Chevrolet, visitors to the East Bank District can still take advantage of free parking in other areas. Local businesses continue to welcome guests and appreciate the community’s understanding as adjustments are made.
