New Tech pair make first-team All-District 1-1A

Louisiana New Tech at Plain Dealing’s Tray Harris and Isaac Jacobs have been named to the All-District 1-1A first team selected by the district’s coaches.

Harris, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound junior, had 70 catches for 1,150 yards and 11 touchdowns.

A Grambling State commitment, Harris finished his high school career with 181 catches for 2,783 yards and 32 touchdowns.

He also made the second team as a defensive back.

Jacobs returned four kicks for touchdowns. He averaged 41 yards on 12 kickoff returns.

Jacobs was also named second-team defensive back. He was also an outstanding wide receiver.

Also making second team for New Tech were junior quarterback Logan Allen, junior nose guard Desmond Stromile and junior defensive tackle Riley Penwell.

Allen completed 204 of 369 passes for 3,035 yards and 31 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.

New Tech’s honorable mention selections were junior Desean Morris, sophomore Keldrick Carper, sophomore Bijon Mitchell, sophomore Herbert McCaulley and junior Deandre Coleman.

Class 1A state champion Haynesville swept the individual honors.

Running back CaVontae Critton was Offensive MVP, tackle Dalton Thompson Defensive MVP and David Franklin Coach of the Year.
