Obituaries: Lee Thomas Cawthon

BOSSIER CITY – A memorial service for Lee Thomas Cawthon, 83, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Cypress Baptist Church, Benton, LA, with Bro. Tommy Patton officiating. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service, beginning at 5 p.m.

Lee was born February 24, 1933 in Darnell, LA and passed away November 29, 2016 in Bossier City, LA. He was veteran and served in the United States Air Force in the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Federal government and was head of the Department of Energy in north LA. Lee retired at a young age and enjoyed living in Colorado part of the year, where he enjoyed hunting arrowheads and four wheel drive trips in the mountains. He also enjoyed square dancing, photography and traveling around the country.

Lee is survived by his son, Steve Cawthon and wife, Maelynn; daughter, Karen Cawthon Culbertson and husband, Don; grandchildren, Karrie LeBlanc, Krystalynn Barre, Heather Cawthon, Dillon Culbertson and eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home, 3130 Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, Bossier City, LA 71112.
