Alice Rebecca Bland Walding Works

Alice Rebecca Bland Walding Works, a long-time resident of Bradley, AR, died on June 22, 2016, in Franklin, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; Gerald Walding and James (Bunt) Works.
Rebecca was born the fifth of ten children on July 2, 1937 in Walker’s Creek, to Leonard (Son) Bland and Georgia Louise Bland.

She is survived by her three siblings; James Leonard Bland, Charles (Uncle Bud) Bland, and Ann Bland Lee. Rebecca is also survived by her four daughters, Becky Pruett of Southlake, TX; Sandy Hammon of Conifer, CO; Terri Stewart of Bradley, AR; and Sherrie Stanford of Franklin, TN. As well as 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Rebecca graduated from Bradley High School and after having four children graduated from Henderson State with a degree in Home Economics and later a master’s degree in education from Southern Arkansas University. She was a Kindergarten teacher and later the Principal of Plain Dealing Academy where she worked for many years. She later retired from the Bossier Parish School System.

A memorial service is scheduled for Bradley Baptist Church on September 4th, 2:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rebecca’s life. The family ask that in lieu of flowers a memorial be made to Bradley Baptist Church in her name.
