In characterizing Amy, we are drawn to the symbol of a Steel Magnolia. She was the steel that bound her family together, strong, durable and ever steady in her resolve.

Our magnolia blossom was beautiful and delicate. She was a woman of great dignity and perseverance. Amy was a truly remarkable lady. Her love and support was ever reaching to not only those bound by blood but also those bound by her never-ending heartstrings.

Amy and her husband, Roy were avid sportsmen. They both enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and sharing that passion with friends and family. She also had a special interest in rock collecting and searching for Indian artifacts.

Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joy in her life, she was extremely proud of them.

Her passion for animals began as a young child. They were like part of the family from her horses to her dogs and cats each given a special place in her heart and home.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy Lynn Pilkinton, parents and brother, Charles McClelland Hutchins, Jr., and brother-in-law, Blackshear Hamilton Snyder, Sr.

She is survived by her daughters, Amy Louise Pilkinton, Lisa Pilkinton Gable and husband Rick, “youngest” daughter, Lori H. Padgett, grandchildren, Matthew Allen Gable and wife, Ashley of Baton Rouge, LA, Sarah Frances Gable of San Antonio, TX, sister-in-law, Margaret Pilkinton Snyder, very special cousin Edwina Menefee Ewell, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many others whom she considered her extended family.
