Obituary: Brenda Jones

BOSSIER CITY – Services for Brenda Stephens Jones, 55, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Fellowship United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.

Brenda was born in Natchitoches, LA on December 21, 1959 and passed away in Bossier City, LA on October 16, 2015. She graduated from Natchitoches Central and received a business degree from Louisiana Tech. Brenda was married to Scott Franklin Jones on August 23, 1986. She had a career in accounts payable for Bossier Parish Community College. She had a passion for plants and spending her free time gardening, running, traveling and camping. She really enjoyed caring for her pets and helping others. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her dear son, Garrett Adam Jones; and her brother Terry Glenn Stephens. Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Scott; parents, E.J. and Lynell Stephens of Natchitoches, LA; brother, Keith Stephens and wife Cindy of Houston, TX; sister, Cynthia Moreland and husband Roger of Hot Springs, AR; brother, Alan Stephens and wife Donna of Waco, TX; brother, Craig Stephens and wife Sharon of Natchitoches, LA; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Berard, James Carter, Jack Burt, David Duncan, Roger Moreland, and Loren Elwell.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Robert Nickelson and his staff with the Willis Knighton Cancer Center and also a special thanks to the staff of Willis Knighton Hospice of Louisiana.
