BOSSIER CITY – Services to honor the life of Bruce Frederick Lichti, USAF Ret., will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2015, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Dr. Randy Harper of Bellaire Baptist Church, where Bruce was a member. Interment will follow In Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Bruce was born on October 11, 1928, in Scottsburg, IN to Hervy B. and Helen June Lichti. He moved to Benton County, IN as a small child with his parents where he farmed with his father until March, 1953. He joined the Air Force at that time, serving at many bases, including one year in Vietnam and retired as Tech Sergeant in 1973 at Barksdale A.F.B.
Bruce played the mandolin, guitar and harmonica in a bluegrass band for many years. Whenever he traveled, he always had his guitar and harmonica with him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Adele Lichti; two sons, Victor V. Lichti and Teddy M. Lichti; and his second wife, Lyndel Lichti. Bruce is survived by his brothers, Lloyd Lichti of Michigan City, IN and Marvin Lichti and wife Barbara of Champaign, IL; daughter-in-law, Mary Lichti of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Phillip Lichti, Brandi Lichti Humphrey, Haleigh Lichti, and Brandon Lichti; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janet Brodsky of Lafayette, IN; and many nephews and nieces.
Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Lichti, Jason Lichti, Allen Lichti, Bo Prothro, Louis Prothro, Jimmy Burns, W.E. Scott, and Gene Scott.
